  • Earrings - simple plain studs (one per ear)
  • One plain ring

Any of these may need to be removed for PE because of safety reasons.

Personal Appearance

In matters such as hairstyle and other such aspects of personal appearance, it is our expectation that students will act in accordance with the spirit of the school dress code and the ethos of the school as a whole.

Physical Education Kit

These guidelines are strongly recommended on the grounds of the health, safety and well-being of the students.

Girls
A change of clothing into a white PE top is essential for reasons of hygiene.

A navy pleated PE skirt (big enough to allow for growth). For the tennis enthusiast a white pleated skirt is acceptable. A change into white PE socks is advisable. For chilly weather - a navy jumper or track suit (not a coat). Hair that is long must be tied back with a suitable hair piece.

Boys
A plain white top for indoor activities and a plain royal top for outdoor activities. Black or royal shorts. A change into suitable socks is advisable

Footwear
Absolutely essential is a change of footwear - in a style of training shoe that is of a serviceable colour, style and sole. Such shoes need to be of a kind which properly supports the foot and the soles must not mark the floor.

General Remarks
Students are not allowed to wear jewellery whilst in school, so there is no reason why they should present themselves for a PE lesson wearing rings, bracelets or earrings. It is dangerous to wear any form of jewellery for a sporting activity.

Every effort should be made to wear shorts of a suitable style, length and colour. When girls wear coloured cycling or Bermuda style shorts 4 to 6 inches below their skirts their whole appearance is spoiled. Similarly, the appearance of boys wearing coloured cycling or Bermuda shorts is unacceptable.

Long hair which is not tied back may obscure the vision and so cause an accident. If girls wear long, baggy tops which are not tucked in, they can look very untidy.
